What we are learning? 

Dear Parents,
We hope you are having a beautiful week. Summer has started and we are so happy to welcome you all to our Summer Camp 2018. Children will participate in many fun events and they will enjoy Splash days, Yoga and so much more. This week the children will learn everything about being little chefs.

We have scheduled learning activities related to this theme to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills so children can continue learning through experiences.

· Explore, feel and touch fruits and vegetables and feel their textures.
· Learn how to kick balls.
· Pretend being chefs and play with chef toys.
· Identify the sensations of cold and warm water.

Dress Code
· Make sure to bring your child's swimwear outfit and Splash day backpack for Splash days.

Friendly Reminders
· Wash your hands and your child’s hands when entering your child’s classroom.
· Make sure to wear shoe covers when entering classroom to drop your child.
· Knock before entering the classroom to make sure there is no one behind the door
· Read, review and fill out your child’s journal with information for the teacher.
· Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.
· Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing.
· Always store pacifiers in their packages.
· Make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when bug spray, diaper cream and any other ointment should be applied and be sure to supply and label the items with your child's name and place them in a Ziploc bag.
· Bring diapers, wipes and rash ointment and label them with your child’s name when requested or needed.
· Label all bottles and food that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared.
· Inform the teacher if there has been a change in your child’s feeding schedule.
· Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.
· Apply sunscreen to your child every morning.
· Make sure to keep in your child’s cubby a pair of glasses and a summer hat.
· Have your child wear swimsuit, splashers or swim diapers and water shoes for Splash Day. Make sure to send a towel and a plastic bag for wet items. Label and pack all these items in the tote bag.
· Sunscreen and mosquito repellant are important to protect your child because he/she is very susceptible to sunburn/mosquito bites. Yet applying sunscreen and mosquito repellent to your child requires planning. If sunscreen and mosquito repellent must be applied to your child, make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when sunscreen and mosquito repellant should be applied and be sure to supply the sunscreen and mosquito repellant, label the bottles with your child's name and place them in a Ziploc bag.

What we are learning?

We hope you all have a wonderful week. The next couple of weeks will be a review of what we have learned during the school year. We will also continue working on motor and sensorial activities related to this theme, so children can continue learning through fun experiences while keeping strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Some activities children will enjoy are as follows:

· Observe flashcards of musical instruments and identify them. 

· Review the concept of giving and take while playing with toys. 

· Feel different textures. 

· Mimic animal sounds.

The student of the week may also bring favorite toys and books to school so they can share with classmates.

· Observe images of fruits and identify the colors. 

· Observe images of means of transportation and identify them. 

· Review the concept of up and down while playing with a ball.

What we are learning?

We hope you all have a wonderful week. This week children will continue exploring the Animal Kingdom. Children will get familiar with domestic animals or pets. 

We will also continue working on motor and sensorial activities related to this theme, so children can continue learning through fun experiences while keeping strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Some activities children will enjoy are as follows:

· Observe flashcards of different animals, particularly pets and learn how to pronounce their names. 

· Mimic domestic animal sounds such as the dog’s bark and cat’s meows.

· Learn to identify animals through flashcards. 

· Sing and dance to the rhythm of songs related to this theme.

What we are learning?

We hope you all have a wonderful week. Children will continue exploring the Animal Kingdom this week as well. Children will listen to onomatopoeic sounds of animals and will try to identify each one of them. They will also review the concept of give and take while sharing with classmates our animal toys. And we will continue to explore our body while looking ourselves in the mirror. This week they will identify their nose. 

We will also continue working on motor and sensorial activities related to this theme, so children can continue learning through fun experiences while keeping strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills.
