My community and I Week: From 10/30/2017 to 11/03/2017





What we are learning? 
Dear Parents, 


We hope you are having a beautiful week. As of Monday, October 30th, 2017 we will start with a new theme called “My Community and Me” and it will continue for the next 4 weeks. Children will be able to identify businesses and institutions, recreation areas in our community, different means of transportation as well as to recognize the work of our community helpers such as police men, firefighters, chefs, bakers, gardeners, doctors, teachers, etc. 

We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences. Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Children will play with little cards and try to imitate the sound of the firefighter truck. They will also build towers with cubes.

Student of the Week

Please make sure to sign up your child for this wonderful activity! 

As you know, every week a child is given a set week that he/she are the student of the week. On Monday of their week the student of the week should bring a poster and a book created with family pictures, favorite books, sports/hobbies, animals or anything they are interested in. Also, on their week parents and the student of the week may pick a day to present the poster and the book to the class. The student of the week may also bring favorite toys and books to school so they can share with classmates.

Friendly Reminders

· Wash your hands and your child’s hands when entering your child’s classroom.
· Make sure to wear shoe covers when entering classroom to drop your child.
· Knock before entering the classroom to make sure there is no one behind the door
· Read, review and fill out your child’s journal with information for the teacher.
· Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.
· Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing.
· Always store pacifiers in their packages.
· Make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when bug spray, diaper cream and any other ointment should be applied and be sure to supply and label the items with your child's name and place them in a tote bag.
· Bring diapers, wipes and rash ointment and label them with your child’s name when requested or needed.
· Label all bottles and food that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared and place them in the refrigerator or counter. If you leave the lunch box in the counter, make sure to put ice packs inside the lunch box. 
· Inform the teacher if there has been a change in your child’s feeding schedule. 
· Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.

Week: From 10/23/2017 to 10/27/2017 Feature Theme: My family



What we are learning? 


Dear Parents, 

We hope you are having a beautiful week. This week we continue learning about family. Through songs, games and other activities children will explore about this exciting theme. 

We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences that help kids explore everything related to family in different ways. Through practical actions we will keep enlightening kids about importance of family. Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Some of the activities our pajaritos will enjoy are: playing with toy phones and pretending to call mom and dad, singing songs related to the family theme, looking at family pictures and identifying mom and dad, etc.

Week: From 10/16/2017 to 10/20/2017 Feature Theme: My family



What are we learning?

We hope you are having a beautiful week. This week we are going to learn about a new theme called “My family”. Through songs, games and other activities children will learn how everything related to family.

We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences. Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. 

· Children will sing and dance to the rhythm of “Tengo una familia” song.
· Children will look at family pictures.
· Children will pretend to cook for the family.
· Children will search and identify mom and dad from our family house.
· Children will classify toys by color.

What we are learning? 

Dear Parents,
We hope you are having a beautiful week. This week we are going to learn about a new theme called “My emotions”. Children will learn to explore their emotions. They will be able to express them. They will also understand that other children have also emotions and they express it in their own unique way.

We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences and that help kids explore their emotions in lots of different ways. Children will experience being happy, sad, upset, scared, etc. Children will learn to hug other classmates. Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. We will also enjoy listening to our story book “Teddy Bear”.
